Amanda has been doing good, she’s getting better and better. She’s been up moving and doing more on her own.
Well it took a while and a lot of calls but we were finally able to get the pacemaker interrogated. We didn’t have to go to San Antonio but we’re able to have it done in Uvalde at our primary care doctor. The Medtronic rep was a nice guy and easy to get along with. He gave us a print out and I got it to the surgeon soon after. This check showed the same as it did in the hospital, no conduction on the atrial lead. That means the epicardial lead that was put in will need to be attached in another procedure.
The procedure will be this Monday afternoon. They will go in and open the pocket where Amanda’s pacemaker is and attach the leads. This should be an easy procedure. They usually do it under continuous sedation but Amanda has previously had problems with it before. We mentioned this to the surgeon and I believe the plan is to do the procedure under general anesthesia. We should be discharged the same day. If she goes under general it might take a while for her to wake up so she might need to stay the night. We will be headed to Houston tomorrow.
